The Optimal Resources for Surgical Quality and Safety 2021 Âé¶¹´«Ã½QVP Standards detail 12 salient elements of surgical quality. These standards span all surgical specialties to provide a blueprint for hospitals and hospital systems to build a successful surgical quality program by establishing, measuring, and continuously improving their hospital's infrastructure.
The Optimal Resources for Surgical Quality and Safety manual builds on the Collegeâ€™s long tradition of developing successful quality programs for improving surgical care. The publication is the work of more than 100 contributing authors who are advocates of the health care quality movement and was developed as a trusted resource for surgical leaders seeking to improve patient care in their institutions, departments, and practices.
The revised Optimal Resources for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery will go into effect October 2022, at which time the MBSAQIP will begin verifying compliance with the updated Standards.
