The 鶹ý (ACS) does not automatically transfer CME data to the American Board of Surgery (ABS). If you would like to electronically transmit your CME data from the 鶹ýto the ABS, use the 鶹ýMyCME Portal. This FREE offering is for both members and nonmembers who have enrolled in an 鶹ýeducational activity.
To send your CME data, you will need your 鶹ýID log-in. This will be either your membership number or the 鶹ýID you received when you created your 鶹ýaccount at the time of purchase for the activity you registered. If you need assistance with the 鶹ýID, contact Log-In Help.
After your CME credits are sent, you will see a confirmation page. After 24 hours, you can log into your ABS account to confirm the credits are in your ABS CME Repository.
For questions about the MyCME portal, contact mycme@facs.org. For questions regarding the ABS requirements, please contact ABS at cc@absurgery.org.
If you participate in an activity that was not accredited by the ACS, you are more than welcome to keep track of those activities inside your MyCME portal as you have done in past. However, we cannot transmit these data to the board. It is recommended the attendee contact the host of the CME activity that was accredited by an external provider to receive information for how to transmit the CME Data. The host of the CME activity may have most likely collaborated with ACCME and the applicable boards to arrange for those data to be transmitted automatically. The host for the activity will most likely know if the data will be automatically sent on your behalf from the board. So, you will not have to do anything else. If you would like additional information regarding ABS and how they will receive credits for courses not accredited by the ACS, please emailcc@absurgery.org.
